DESCRIPTION:
The contemporary didactic tendencies request the teacher new levels of relationship with
his students and with the resources that support the learning and teaching process, in
order to improve the valuation of the teaching process, which evaluation criteria are
increasingly more limited and far from reality, taking in many cases only the numeric
grade.
So, due to this situation and taking advantage of the mobile devices portability and
information-handling characteristics, we did this project, as an attempt of improving in a
general way the teaching process, through not only the information delivery (formerly
missing or too disperse) for use as a valuation criteria, but the agile and ubiquitous
manage of the academic process relate information.
The improvement will show itself in a more close-to-reality evaluation and in a closer
approach between the teacher and each one of his students. We developed a software for
the PDA and another one for the PC, and due to this developing, the teacher can consult
and manipulate the information in both scenarios, complementing with a synchronization
software that allow to consolidate the information between both parts. The information that
the teacher can handle are basically students data, courses data and groups (formal and
not formal ones) that he is in charge.
As a development methodology, we use the Incremental life-cycle, and also use the
Unified Modeling Language (UML) for the project diagrams. This document shows the
criteria for the conceiving and development of the project, and a detailed description and
documentation of the necessaries activities for its making, finishing with the
recommendations and conclusions.
